Self Love Journal Prompts

your pathway to love and acceptance

The Self Love Journal Prompts cards are not your typical "oracle" cards. They are designed as an interactive tool to use with your journal to support you with learning to love and accept who you are. I believe self love is an important part of our personal development and spiritual path, however most of us have not been taught how to go about it. What does it actually mean to love yourself? What does it look like? As you go through each card, you will get to know more about yourself in a positive way...which leads to more confidence in your abilities, gifts, strengths and what works/what doesn't. It's also about releasing the weight that has stopped you from living your dreams, being happy or just feeling good about yourself.

The Self Love Journal Prompts cards also make it easy to get started. One of the most common themes I hear in my journaling workshops is how hard it is for some people to write, because they don't know what to write about or how to get started. Prompts also make it easy to express yourself through writing, which is what makes journaling such a powerful introspective tool. Once you write the prompt at the top of your page, your mind will fill in the rest...and...as you go along, deeper reflection happens naturally...which leads to deeper insights, self empowerment and enlightening discoveries about yourself!

To support your journaling process, the cards are divided into 6 Love Zones. These areas are what we most struggle with and when worked through one at a time, will assist you with learning to love yourself in many different ways. Self love is not just about self care and treating yourself, or how you speak to yourself. It encompasses much more and as you increase your self awareness, you become more confident with setting boundaries, releasing old habits or beliefs or standing up for yourself, which leads you to a new sense of freedom and a happier, more fulfilled life!

Here are the 6 Love Zones included in your deck...

​

1. Self Care, allows for self nourishment of your body, mind, spirit. This is where you go beyond typical self care rituals to discover new ways to care for your body, nourish your mind and deepen your connection with your spirit. Really taking care of yourself takes some creativity and willingness to go beyond what you already know, to develop new ways to honour your whole self.

​

2. Joy, shows you the many ways for you to learn to love your life and find your joy in the things you appreciate. When was the last time you had fun? Real fun? When we aren't loving ourselves, we lose our sense of joy. Life becomes serious. The Joy zone, encourages you to discover what lights you up, what brings you pleasure and what make you feel good. When you connect to your joy, you connect to your heart, and life becomes much lighter!

3. Letting Go, is the releasing of old habits, beliefs, people, situations and even stuff in your closet or garage to help you create new space for more positive experiences. When we let go of excess baggage, whether it be physical, emotional or mental, you honour yourself at the deepest level. Letting go of what does not serve us is an important part of loving ourselves. It allows new energy to flow which brings about positive new changes.

4. Appreciate is where you learn to own your power and gifts. It is here where you learn to have pride in your accomplishments and root for yourself! Self appreciation is not something we are taught, yet it is healthy and integral to our growth, to learn how to acknowledge our accomplishments and own our power. Everyone loves to be acknowledged and appreciated...and this is where you learn to acknowledge and appreciate yourself!

5. Boundaries is one of the most important foundations for self love and is often where we sell out on ourselves. We diminish our light and give away our power by saying yes to everyone else. Without boundaries we give in to others which weakens us and leaves us feeling powerless...it is also the fastest route to resentment. Setting healthy boundaries is one of the most sacred ways to honour yourself. It is time to say YES to YOU and NO to the things that are distracting you or keeping you from having a joy-filled life.

6. Self Love is where you realize your value and raise your self worth gauge. Way up! It is where you explore the many ways you ARE worthy and deserving of a life you love. It also where you expand your capacity for forgiveness of yourself and others while practising self-compassion. Really loving yourself is being able to accept yourself for who you are...with kindness, compassion and respect.
